Description:
College scouts want to see a high-quality 5 minute video of your athlete. The best plays should be at the beginning of the video. Techniques such as freeze-frame, cropping, masking, scaling, slow-motion and on-screen indicators are often times required to highlight your athlete properly. Other than the on-screen indicators and slow motion effects, the other techniques should be transparent to the coach. The coach should be able to focus on the player without being distracted by effects.
Our goal is to showcase your athlete’s absolute best potential. In addition to a 5 minute highlight video, scouts usually want to see a complete game (the good and the bad plays) with your athlete highlighted throughout the video. We can put both of these videos on the same disk with an intuitive menu for scouts to use.
Each video we create is a custom video. This means that we may need to work with you throughout the process to make sure the video meets your expectations.
Send us an email (sportvidz@me.com) or call us at (512) 923-7846 to start the process- we usually respond within 1 business day.
RECRUITING VIDEO PACKAGE 1 - $300
Showcase your athlete’s best plays for college coaches. You send us your athlete’s best game on tape or disk and we will create a highlight video for you. You pay for shipping to us, we pay for shipping the final product to you (and returning your video).
RECRUITING VIDEO PACKAGE 2 - $450
We travel to your game (in the Austin area only), shoot 1-2 hours of video and create a highlight video for you. This package is ideal if you do not own a video camera or you simply want to enjoy the game while someone else records your athlete.
Send us an email (sportvidz@me.com) or call us at (512) 923-7846 to schedule your game - we usually respond within 1 business day.
Sample Video:
Below is a sample highlight video. This is a sample only - we would not use a number of these plays nor would we use music in a real scout video. We would also provide additional stats for the scouts.

Why the cost?
To help understand why these videos cost a few hundred dollars, here’s a description of our standard workflow:
1- For a 1 hour video with clips embedded throughout, it takes about 3 hours to capture, review, place the clips in order, and edit the clips.
2- Next we need to render the video. This part of the process takes between 1 - 4 hours of compute time. During this time our computer is dedicated to your project.
3- The final step is to build a DVD menu, render the DVD and burn the disk. This part of the process takes another 2 - 4 hours of compute time.
At the end of the process, you will have a 3 - 15 minute video of your athlete’s best plays on DVD. Its a lot of work, time and cost - but its worth it.
Think of it this way - professional photographers charge $200-$400 for portraits. A portrait hangs on your wall and only those who see your wall will appreciate the portrait. The videos we make for the same amount of money can be shared with the world. Which would you rather have?
